If you are doing video well.

People can tell very quickly if you are genuine and professional - or not. With video, on either laptop, desktop or phone, your face is 1' or so from their face. That is very intimate space.

Let me share some facts -

80% increase in conversion rate for landing pages with video
people retain 95% of a message if they see it in video form
59% of the world population are active social media users
video users enjoy a
49% faster revenue growth than nonvideo users
59% of executives say they would rather watch a video than read text
33% of people will stop watching a video after 30 seconds, and 60% will do so by two minutes

I recently started sharing video after a year and 3-month absence.


It is unbelievable what it has done for my engagement on LinkedIn. I'm honestly rather shocked.

And it isn't just the engagement when I post them weekly on LinkedIn. It is the emails, DMs, and conversations at networking events that are really impressive to me.

I have always been a big believer in video.

It is challenging creating and nurturing relationships on a 2D platform without video.

Video changes everything.

Super Tip - I just found out about an editing tool that is a game changer. Descript. It does many things, but what I find valuable is this - if you say um, and uh, etc. a lot, if you alter the transcript, the AI alters the video. Voila!

Heads Up - In a tiny Beta test right now on LinkedIn is a new, dedicated video feed in the app, which displays content in a TikTok-style, full-screen format, leaning into the broader vertical video trend.

You might remember the Stories feature in the newsfeed which did last long. It will be fun to see if it sticks or not this time.
